PRO-FAMILY NETWORK has received overwhelming response to the alert regarding HB277; introduced by extremist liberal Otto Beatty of Columbus. PRO-FAMILY NETWORK wishes to explain further the serious dangers and consequences of HB 277. In the four plus years I have been lobbying in Columbus; first for Ohio Christian Coalition and now with PRO-FAMILY NETWORK, HB277 is the single most dangerous bill to our faith, freedom and our families I have ever seen! This is not drama, this not an experiment, this is a real threat to free peoples.

Sexual orientation is not defined in the bill or in code. HB277 has written will mean pedophiles, pederasty, bestiality, etc., etc. Not just same sex orientation as we might assume sexual orientation means. The case could be argued by any slick attorney or prosecutor before a sympathetic, liberal judge that sexual orientation is whatever sexual predilection you have.

Consider these: What does HB 277 do to all the domestic partnership and homosexual adoptions rulings? Would HB277, if passed, put all the current pro-family protections in the Ohio Revised Code “up for crabs” because the pro-family laws would then be considered discriminatory and thus considered a "hate crime?" Does this mean anything goes, the sky's the limit for the gay community? Should we wait to find out? Should Ohioans allow this poisonous snake to pass, just to see if it will bite our children? Do we have enough pastors and citizens willing to stand for righteousness?

HB277 would outlaw the proclamation of the Gospel because homosexuals and other sexual neuroses would be protected from “intimidation,” and any act against them verbal or otherwise would be called intimidation, criminalized has “domestic terrorism.” Sexual orientation would be defined has an ethnic group. Please realize; homosexuals practicing sodomy are NOT a race, NOT a class of genetically distinct beings. Homosexuals are not created by God has homosexuals. Homosexuals are oriented to that behavior by a series of unfortunate circumstances. They can be changed. But any change must take place because an individual wants to change. Forcing the acceptance of a self-destructive lifestyle on society is unacceptable and must be opposed.

HB 277 is wrong for Ohio’s families. Wrong for Ohio’s future. Call your state representative and state senator today and insist they oppose HB 277. Liberal Republican Chairwoman, Ann Womer Benjamin of Aurora (Portage County), is now scheduling proponent testimony for HB 277. Sponsor testimony is required by house rules; hearings on this bill could stop there. But that is apparently not the intent of Rep. Womer Benjamin. Hate crimes legislation is unnecessary. When a crime is committed, an action against someone or something has taken place. Having emotions, or feelings of hate by themselves is not and can never be a codified crime!

Pray. Pray that the Lord will raise up people to testify against this bill. We need parents, lawmakers, ex-gays, psychologists and members of the clergy to come to Columbus and testify against HB 277. Pray that churches will notify their members to call their legislators at the state house and oppose HB277.
