The First Gift
By Mr. David Zanotti

The First Gift of Christmas, what was it? Scholars can contend it might have been the Star of Bethlehem or the offerings from the lowly shepherds. In Luke 2 we find that the moment in the Manger, when the Christ was born, caused angels to burst through their invisibility and join in celestial chorus. It was the gift of music - the hosts of heaven just had to sing.

Which is another reason why we start every broadcast year on The Public Square with Christmas. I am writing you from the set of Christmas in America where right now, Dave's Highway, a wonderful trio from Nashville, TN is rehearsing "Joy to the World". Can you imagine what those angels must have sounded like that first Christmas moment?

Christmas in America 1915 will be on the air soon coast-to-coast. This is our Christmas present to America. Another telling of the Christmas story in song. This year you can give the brand new album: "1915-Christmas with Fanny Crosby" to everyone on your Christmas list. This truly unique album features brand new Christmas music written to accompany lost Christmas carols written by Fanny Crosby. 100% of the proceeds go to support the non-profit work of The Public Square media network. Why not make music your first gift this Christmas?
